Yokohama has been appointed as the control tyre supplier for the 2018 TCR Europe series and also for TCR Benelux that will run alongside the European series in five events out of seven.
The contract will run for three years from 2018 onwards.
A choice of two tyres will be supplied to the competitors: for dry tracks, cars will be fitted with Yokohama’s A005 racing slick tyre, with the company’s A006 rain tyre provided for wet conditions. Both options will be provided in 250/660R18 size.
The number of tyres will be limited to twelve new slicks for the first event of the season and sixteen - including a maximum of eight new - for the following events. The number of rain tyres will be limited to twelve per event.
Over the last thirty years Yokohama has built a long and successful reputation in developing racing tyres for Touring Car competition and has recently focused on TCR, as the supplier of the TCR Ibérico, TCR Portugal and TCR Russia series as well as the 2017 TCR Europe Trophy at Adria. The Japanese company was also recently selected as the tyre supplier for the forthcoming TCR UK series and the new FIA WTCR.
