WTCR: Azcona is the man to watch at Motorland Aragón

Mikel Azcona will be the man to watch, this weekend at Motorland Aragón that is the venue for the FIA WTCR rounds 11, 12 and 13; this is the first time that the Spanish circuit receives an international Touring Car event.
There, Yann Ehrlacher and Esteban Guerrieri will resume their fight for the World Cup title; the yboth have scored three victories so far and Ehrlacher (Cyan Racing, Lynk & Co 03) leads the standings by 22 points over Guerrieri (Münnich Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R). 
Their respective teammates, Yvan Muller and Nélson Girolami are placed third and fourth with gaps of 55 and 63 points, while fifth on equal points with Girolami is Jean-Karl Vernay (Team Mulsanne, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce) and Tom Coronel (Comtoyou Racing, Audi RS 3 LMS) follows a further five points adrift.
But arguably, the man to watch at Aragón will be the local hero Azcona at the wheel of a CUPRA Leon Competición run by Zengő Motorsport. Besides knowing the track better than anyone of his competitors, Azcona is fighting fit. He put in some great performances in the previous WTCR event at the Hungaroring, where he showed a pace fast enough to aim for podium results.
He did even better last weekend during a guest appearance in TCR Europe at Spa, where he started twice from P13 and scored two authoritative victories on the wet track. Clearly, he will be eager to claim his first victory of the season in WTCR and give the new CUPRA its maiden win in the World Cup.
