Aurélien Comte confirmed by DG Sport

The reigning TCR European Champion Aurélien Comte is the first driver signed by DG Sport Compétition to drive one of the team’s Peugeot 308 TCR cars in the WTCR, the new FIA World Touring Car Cup.
Comte had already successfully driven for DG Sport in 2017, at the wheel of a Peugeot 308 Racing Cup; he emerged as a race winner and title contender in the TCR Benelux and won the TCR Europe at Adria. The young Frenchman has also been one of the drivers chosen by Peugeot Sport to develop the full TCR version of the 308. “In fact, I’m well placed to confirm that my 2018 car in no way compares with its predecessor,” Comte explained. “Engine, chassis, aerodynamics: it boasts an enormous progress in all fields. It goes without saying that the Balance of Performance will contribute to levelling out the chances of the different competing models. It might be worth waiting until after the collective tests in Barcelona at the end of the month to draw up a more precise picture of the strengths present. But I’m confident: the Peugeot 308 TCR is well-born and will give its rivals the run around.” 

DG Sport Compétition has also named Eric Nève – the former director of Chevrolet WTCC programme – as team manager.
