The Renault Mégane RS TCR is carrying out an intensive testing programme ahead of the 2019 racing season. Vuković Motorsport, that has developed the car and will run it in the TCR Europe Series, was at Oschersleben last Sunday and at Spa-Francorchamps yesterday for a couple days of testing, with John Filippi at the wheel.
“We ran for 250 kilometres at Oschersleben and 300 at Spa without any hiccups,” commented Eric Nève, the team manager of the Swiss outfit. “We tested in both qualifying and race configurations, testing many different technical solutions and set-ups. We plan to complete additional sessions at Hockenheim and the Red Bull Ring in the forthcoming weeks.”
John Filippi was also positive about the tests: “We have a real race car now and reliability is excellent. Clearly, we still have a lot of work to do to reach the performance level we want, but we are heading in the right direction and progressing well, thanks also to the strengthening of our technical staff.”
