Volcano Motorsport will take part in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour with two second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS cars.
John Filippi and Sami Taoufik have been confirmed as the team’s drivers for the season.
The Barcelona-based outfit steps up to the World Tour after having a few successful seasons with race wins in TCR Europe, TCR Spain.
Filippi, 29-year-old from Corsica, was a title contender in TCR Europe last year, scoring three race wins, including an overall victory in the joint event with the Kumho TCR World Tour at Spa, on his way to finish third in the Drivers’ championship.
Taoufik, 22-year-old Moroccan, returns to competition after a two-year break; he previously raced in the 2020 and 2021 TCR Europe, claiming four podium results.
Team principal Andrei Tkachenko said: "We are incredibly proud to step up to the World Tour stage with an extremely talented team of young and very fast drivers, skilled engineers, professional mechanics and our beautiful Audi RS 3 LMS cars. Our extensive experience in TCR racing and previous successes have proven our team's great potential. We believe that John and Sami will deliver brilliant performances in Kumho FIA TCR World Tour with the full support and dedication of our team and Audi brand."
