The new Toyota Corolla GRS TCR and the Tecnodom Sport-built Fiat Tipo TCR are undergoing the homologation procedure for being certified by WSC Group’s Technical Department and begin their racing activity.
Both cars went through the tests for assessing downforce and drag at the Pininfarina wind tunnel in Grugliasco, setting the rear wing inclination in different configurations.
The following step was the test to assess the centre of gravity, using the revolving platform of JS-PE GmbH in Rötz, Germany.
In the meantime, Toyota and Fiat engines are being bench-tested at the facilities of ORAL Engineering, in Modena, together with the unit of the new LADA Vesta Sport TCR.
Each engine is placed inside the ‘test cell’ and linked to the dynamometer that measures power and torque curves and checks the engine maps in different power configurations.
