Julius Adomavičius seemed set for encoring his Race 1 victory at Pärnu after he took command of the BaTCC second race from the start. However, two laps before the end Adomavičius outbraked himself entering into Turn 1 and went wide, allowing Džiugas Tovilavičius to move into the lead; soon afterwards Adomavičius slowed and pulled up.
Tovilavičius had followed Adomavičius for the whole race and from the 11th lap had closed in on the leader and began to chase him.
Behind them Ramūnas Čapkauskas overtook Kęstutis Stasionis for third on lap 4; eventually they were promoted to second and third when Adomavičius stopped. The fight for the fourth position saw Latvia’s Andrey Yushin beating local driver Peeter Peek.
In the championship standings, Tovilavičius has taken the lead, nine points over Čapkauskas, while Adomavičius has slipped to third, 15 points behind the leader.
The next race meeting of the BaTCC takes place at Riga Bikernieki, in Latvia, on August 17/18.
