Young Austrian driver Thomas Jäger will make his first appearance in the TCR International Series for his home race meeting, next week at the Salzburgring.
The 23-year old Jäger will be at the wheel of an Opel Astra TCR run by the Kissling Motorsport team.
“It is going to be my first experience in a front-wheel drive racing car,” explained Jäger who has raced so far in karting, Formula and rear-wheel drive Touring cars. “We have tested the Astra TCR three weeks ago and I felt immediately at ease driving it. Now I will be focusing in doing my best in what is also my first race ever at the Salzburgring and in one of the most competitive Touring Car series in the world.”
Team principal Stefan Kissling added: “We are please to field a third Astra TCR alongside those run by our long-term customer team DG Sport Compétition. And we are very much looking forward to see how Thomas Jäger will perform. We have been impressed by him when he tested the car and decided to offer him the opportunity of driving the Astra TCR in an actual race meeting!“
