The battle for the TCR Italy crown enters its final phase with the penultimate event of the season that takes place this weekend at Monza ENI Circuit.
Four drivers form the group of the top contenders, with Eric Brigliadori (BF Motorsport, Audi RS 3 LMS) who took the lead in the standings with a victory - the third for him in his rookie season - in the previous event at Vallelunga. The reigning champion Salvatore Tavano (Scuderia del Girasole, CUPRA Leon Competición) is currently placed second, five points behind, while Marco Pellegrini (Target Competition, Hyundai i30 N) lies in third position, two further points adrift.
The fourth contender is Felice Jelmini (PMA Motorsport, Hyundai) who claimed his maiden TCR Italy win when the series visited Imola in August and has a gap of 25 points from Brigliadori.
With 106 points for grasp in the two final events, other drivers hope to join the battle or at least to score race wins. Amongst those who can compete for victory at Imola is Kevin Giacon who makes his first appearance in the current year at the wheel of an MM Motorsport Honda Civic Type R. Giacon has already drove the car to three wins in the latest rounds of the Coppa Italia Turismo.
Live streaming of both races will be at www.tcr-series.com; Saturday at 12:55 and Sunday at 10:55 (CET).
