Salvatore Tavano may have already secured his second consecutive TCR Italy title, one month ago at Vallelunga, but the championship's finale at Monza promises some thrilling fights.
At stakes are the second and third places in the standings. Tavano's teammate Matteo Greco (Scuderia del Girasole, CUPRA) is currently placed second with 113 points, three more than Enrico Bettera (Pit Lane Competizioni, Audi RS 3 LMS) and 11 ahead of Marco Pellegrini (Target Competition, Hyundai i30 N).
Another driver eager to finish the season on a high note is Massimiliano Mugelli (PRS Motorsp. Alfa Romeo Giulietta), who claimed his maiden victory in Vallelunga's first race.
For its final event, the championship welcomes some new competitors beginning with the winner of the Italian Renault Clio Cup Felice Jelmini (PMA Motorsport, Hyundai i30 N). A small bunch of drivers is joining from the TCR DSG Endurance series that came to an end two weeks ago: Nicola Guida and the pair Gabriele Volpato-Sandro Pelatti will drive Audi cars run by the Scuderia del Girasole, Simone Vullo a CUPRA for BD Racing, while Elite Motorsport has entered two Volkswagen Golf GTI cars for Ermanno Dionisio and Michele Imberti.
The field will be completed by two foreign entries: TCR Russia regular Lev Tolkachev (Race Republic, CUPRA) and Serbian youngster Nikola Miljković (Lein Racing, CUPRA).
Both races will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv, Sunday at 8:30 and 12:00 (local time CET).
