The third event of the 2021 TCR Eastern Europe marks the series' first visit to Poland. It's the Poznán circuit that will host the meeting, the largest and most technical racetrack in the country. Inaugurated in 1977, the 4km circuit is located in the western part of Poland, close to the Poznań-Ławica Airport.
No fewer that half-a-dozen local drivers will make the grid, beginning with the championships' regular Tomasz Rzepecki (Basenhurt A&T Racing, Volkswagen Golf GTI) and Łukasz Stolarczyk (BTC Maszyny, Audi RS 3 LMS).
They will be joined by Sebastian Kołakowski and Jakub Wyszomirski in a pair of Honda Civic Type R FK2 cars run by the Wyszomirski Racing, and Szymon Jabłoński in a BM Racing Team Hyundai i30 N.
The Polish patrol is completed by Bartosz Groszek at the wheel of an Audi RS 3 LMS entered by the Horňák-Aditis team. Groszek faces his real racing debut after securing the title in the 2020 TCR Eastern Europe SIM series.
Following the first two events of the season at Hungaroring and Slovakiaring, Tomáš Pekař (Carpek Service, CUPRA) leads the standings by 17 points ahead of his fellow Czech countryman Michal Makeš (Mičánek Motorsport, CUPRA).
The two races will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.com; Saturday at 11:35 and Sunday at 12:45 (CEST).
