The winning streak of Møller Bil Motorsport in the TCR class of the VLN series has reached the third consecutive victory.
The Audi RS3 LMS run by the Norwegian team won the series’ seventh round, the 58. ADAC Reinoldus Langstreckenrennen, with the usual trio of Håkon Schjærin, Kenneth Østvold and Atle Gulbrandsen taking shifts at the wheel during the four-hour race.
They set pole position in the class with a lap of 8:42.980 that placed them 28th on the starting grid, then covered 26 laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife to be classified 25th overall out of the 149 starters.
Second in the class was the Mathilda Racing Cupra driven by Andreas Gülden and Heiko Hammel that completed 26 laps like the winning car, but crossed the finishing line three minutes behind to claim the 31st position overall.
In a perfect repetition of the previous round’s podium, Benedikt Gentgen, Bernd Hömberg and Lukas Thiele were classified third in the class and 34th overall in the FEV Racing Cupra, a further 90 seconds adrift.
The Swiss Sandro Rothenberger was the only other TCR driver classified and finished 54th overall at the end of a solo drive in his Cupra, while the Lubner Motorsport Opel Astra of Hannu Luostarinen, Thomas Jäger and Thorsten Wolter retired after an incident on the second lap.
The eighth round of the series –– the 50. ADAC Barbarossapreis – will take place on September 6.
