The script in TC America’s TCR class seems immutable, as Tyler Maxson keeps on winning all the races, one after the other. The Copeland Motorsport’s teenager and his Hyundai Veloster N have won the second race at Sonoma International Raceway. That was Maxson’s seventh victory out of the seven races held so far and he claimed it the usual way: jumping into the lead after the start, pulling away in the early stages, building a comfortable gap and then controlling the pace in the second half of the 40-minute competition.
The only difference compared to yesterday’s Race 1 was the reversal of positions behind Maxson with Roy Block solidly keeping the second place ahead of Victor González. However, twelve minutes before the end the pace of Block’s KMW Motorsports Alfa Romeo Giulietta suddenly faded and González moved into second, just like yesterday. Block kept on crawling but lost the third position to CJ Moses and eventually retired into the pits.
Race 3 is scheduled for 11:10 Pacific Time (20:10 CEST) on Sunday; live streaming at www.tcr-series.com.
