The BRC Racing Team made a test at Vallelunga that was further preparation, alongside for the start of the WTCR season in which the Italian outfit will run two Hyundai i30 N TCR cars.
The test gave both drivers – Gabriele Tarquini and Norbert Michelisz – an opportunity to run on the Yokohama tyres, building mileage and knowledge of how the car and tyres work together. A majority of the testing last year was on Michelin or Hankook tyres.
Michelisz was also able to add to his time in the car before the WTCR opening round at Marrakech.
The wet weather also gave the teams and drivers the first chance to see the performance of the Yokohama rain tyres.
