The 24H COTA ends off the 24H TCE Series at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Thirteen teams have entered in the TCR class that will award the Continents Trophy; after the two previous rounds at Dubai and Portimão, a family fight has taken shape. In fact, the two Peugeot 308 cars run by Team Altran are currently first and second in the standings, with the #908 leading from #308 by just one point.
The leading car will be driven by a cosmopolitan quartet: Cyrus Ayari and Jean-Marc Thevenot from France, Jürgen Nett from Germany and Michel Sallenbach from Canada, while the regular French trio of Guillaume Roman, Thierry Blaise and Marc Guillot will share the #308 with the addition of Denmark’s Kim Holmgaard.
Two other teams - both in Cupra cars run by Bas Koeten Racing - are still in contention: LMS Racing #129 and NKPP Racing #175 that have gaps of 16 and 18 points respectively. Experienced Swiss driver Ronny Jost will join the Finnish trio of Antti Buri, Kari Pekka Laaksonen and Olli Kangas in the #129, while an all-Dutch team formed by Gijs Bessem, Harry Hilders and Roeland Voerman will share the #175.
Amongst the favourite teams for the race victory are the Hyundai i30 N entered by Team Hyundai Denmark and the Lestrup Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI.
