Teamwork Motorsport is ready for Zhuhai opening

Following a brilliant 2017 season in TCR China that resulted in three race wins and the second position in the Teams’ championship, Teamwork Motorsport is now aiming for winning the title.
The team will run a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR that will be driven by Alex Hui and Sunny Wong who were classified third and fourth last year. Both drivers were involved in an extensive set-up and suspension testing with support from the team’s new technical partner Öhlins.
The 2018 TCR China will start this week in Zhuhai featuring some new rules such as the introduction of the success ballast and a ballot-based reverse grid.

Alex Hui said: “We are excited ahead of the season start. Some of the new rules are bringing in new ideas and strategies to take into consideration. Sunny and I have been doing some pre-season testing to get ready so that we can maximise our performance at the season opener.”

Sunny Wong echoed: “The new regulations are going to create more possibilities and opportunities for the teams. We will work hard with our team members to try to turn this into an advantage. Zhuhai is well-known by teams and drivers, so we expect some fierce competition for a podium finish.”

Team principal Paul Hui commented: “Alex and Sunny have been team-mates for years and now sharing the same car will give them the chance to be good title contenders.”
