TCR South America’s tyre-test day was successfully completed yesterday at Porto Alegre’s Velopark.
The driver appointed to conduct the test was the experienced Brazilian Flavio ‘Noño’ Figueiredo, at the wheel of an Audi RS 3 LMS run by the team MC Tubarão of Guilherme Reischl.
The first part of the day was used to set-up the car that took part later in Qualifying simulations with tyres from three different brands. In the afternoon the focus shifted on three race simulations of 30 minutes, in order to test the durability of the different types of tyres.
The test was held under the supervision of TCR South America’s Technical Director, Samuel Canca who commented: “It was a very productive test, as we were able to successfully complete the programme we had fixed for the day and achieve all our goals. We thank Figueiredo and the team for their professional approach to the test.”
Further tests will be conducted in the coming days to appoint the tyre provider for the championship’s inaugural season.
