The 2022 season of TCR Scandinavia kicks off Saturday at Ljungbyheds Motorbana.
The format of the event includes one Shootout Qualifying in which the drivers will run in only one time lap and one race. In the following events the championship will revert to its standard format of a two-stage Qualifying (Q1 and Q2) and three races.
Robert Dahlgren, who has won the title three times over the last five years with PWR Racing, returns to defend the crown at the wheel of his CUPRA Leon Competición. His new teammate is the 21-year-old Axel Bengtsson who comes straight from karting.
Dahlgren will face Tobias Brink and Oliver Söderström who have been title contenders in the latest seasons and will both drive second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS cars. Brink teams with Hugo Nerman at Brink Motorsport, while Andreas Bäckman has joined Söderström at Lestrup Racing Team.
Another driver to watch is Mattias Andersson in the Lynk & Co 03 run by MA GP he drove to one race win in 2021.
