Micke Kågered Racing will expand to two Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR cars for the 2018 TCR Scandinavia with Oscar Krüger joining Andreas Ahlberg.
Krüger who has previously raced in the Swedish GT and Radical said: “The series is really competitive and it is going to be nice driving against some of the drivers that I looked up to when I was younger.”
Ahlberg classified ninth overall in last year’s TCR Scandinavia driving the team’s only Volkswagen Golf.
Albin Wärnelöv will continue with Experion Racing Team in the same Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR he drove last year. “We had a varied debut season with some nice highlights with fourth as best qualifying result and fifth as best race result. I am really motivated and inspired to reach the next level,” said Wärnelöv who finished 14th overall in 2017.
Peter Åke ‘Poker’ Wallenberg will drive an Audi RS 3 LMS for PWR Racing, after driving a SEAT for the team last year. He will race under the Racing for Charity banner.
“We started the project ’Racing For Charity’ with partners and supported five charity organisations,” said Wallenberg. “We had a strong response and we are gearing up the programme further, the idea is to generate even more attention to the organisations that we support. I am really looking forward to a new season.”
PWR Racing will also field four Cupra cars alongside Wallenberg’s Audi.
