PWR Racing will defend the TCR Scandinavia title won by Robert Dahlgren last year with a strong four-driver line up that includes the reigning champion, plus Philip Morin, Daniel Haglöf and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky. They will all be driving Cupra TCR cars.
“2017 was one of the best seasons in my career, and I have been aiming to become a double champion since the moment I passed the finish line at the Mantorp Park’s finale last year,” said Dahlgren. “I know we have everything to be successful again, but at the same time I feel that that competition will be even tougher. In any case, those who want to challenge me for this title will have to fight hard!”
Haglöf and Åhlin-Kottulinsky have already competed in the championship last year; the former was classified fifth in the drivers championship with one race win, while the young lady made some occasional appearances as well as racing in the TCR Germany at the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS. Haglöf, who is also the team’s CEO commented: “Personally I look forward to a season where more of my own focus will be on the racing itself, not being too involved in all other processes in and around the team. We're launching our strongest campaign so far and all other teams will have to fight really hard for the podiums this season.”
“This is clearly one of the biggest steps in my career so far, to be competing in the reigning champion team. Last season was a year of learning for me, with the TCR car being a totally new experience as well as many of the Swedish circuits. We now have higher expectations for 2018,” Åhlin-Kottulinsky said.
The 21-year-old Morin is facing his maiden season in TCR: “I’m really looking forward to compete with the championship-winning team this season. My goal is clear, winning together with PWR Racing, both the junior and overall title!”
