TCR Russia resumes for the second event two weeks after the season began at Smolensk Ring.
This weekend the championship visits for the first time the new Igora Drive circuit, nearby St. Petersburg.
LADA Sport Rosneft's drivers Mikhail Mityaev - the winner of Smolensk Race 1 - and Kirill Ladygin are on top of the standings, split by nine points, while LUKOIL Racing's Aleksey Dudukalo, who won the second race in the first event, lies in third position, a further four points adrift.
Amongst those who want to make up for the disappointing results at Smolensk are three Hyundai drivers: the reigning champion Dmitry Bragin, who only achieved a fourth and a sixth, and the LUKOIL Racing's pairing of Ivan Lukashevich and Andrej Maslennikov who were the fastest in qualifying, but were hit by technical issues in the races.
Compared to the previous event, two new entries have increased the list to 18 cars: Pavel Yashin and Lev Nikitin, both at the wheel of CUPRA cars, while Andrej Radoshnov has swapped his Volkswagen Golf GTI with an Audi RS 3 LMS.
Both races will be streamed live Sunday at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv: Race 1 at 11:50 local time (10:50 CEST) and Race 2 at 16:55 local time (15:55 CEST).
