For its third event, TCR Russia moves to St. Petersburg for a couple of races at the Igora Drive racetrack.
LADA Sport Rosneft's reigning champion Kirill Ladygin and his LADA Vesta Sport lead the standings by 23 points.
After they shared race victories in the previous event at the N-Ring, Pavel Kalmanovich (Innostage AG Team, CUPRA) and Dmitry Bragin (TAIF Motorsport, Audi RS 3 LMS) managed to move up into second and third positions respectively. Bragin is only one point behind Kalmanovich and equal with Lukoil Racing Team's Andrej Maslennikov (Hyundai i30 N).
Other drivers who are aiming to enter in contention for the title are Maslennikov's teammate Ivan Lukashevich and Zakhar Slutskyi (Carville Racing, Hyundai i30 N) who are currently placed fifth and sixth respectively, with gaps of 31 and 32 points from Ladygin.
For this event, Matvey Furazhkin will be replaced by Kazakh driver Alaksandr Artemyev at the wheel of the Carville Racing Audi RS 3 LMS.
Last year, on the occasion of TCR Russia's first visit at Igora Drive, race wins were shared by Ladygin and Lukashevich.
Sunday’s races will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.com, at 11:45 and 16:15 local time (10:45 and 15:15 CEST).
