The TCR community today is mourning the loss of one of its star drivers, Dan Kirby, after the sad news that he passed away yesterday at the age of 37.
Kirby raced in the TCR UK championship in 2020-2021 for Power Maxed Racing, before sitting out 2022 before making his return to the championship at the first two rounds of this season behind the wheel of a new CUPRA Leon.
Kirby’s career highlight was his last full season in 2021. The Essex-based driver was in contention for the drivers’ championship right up until the final round at Donington Park, claiming seven podium finishes over the course of the season, including scoring his first career win at Brands Hatch.
His successful 2021 campaign saw him ranked as the 40th-best TCR driver in the world at the end of that season.
The TCR organisation would like to extend its deepest sympathies to Dan’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
