TCR Mexico Class established within the Copa Notiauto Mexico

WSC, the owner of the TCR trademark and technical regulations, and Duncan Eventos signed an agreement to establish a TCR Mexico Class within the Copa Notiauto Mexico.

The deal will have a duration of three years, expiring at the end of 2026, and grants Duncan Eventos the license to promote TCR competition in Mexico.

The TCR Mexico Class will compete in both the Copa Notiauto Sprint and the Copa Notiauto Endurance that starts this weekend in Monterrey with a 500km race.

Kumho has been named as the control tyre supplier.

A prelude to this agreement was the successful participation of TCR cars in the 24-hour race at Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez last December, when they took the first four spots in the overall classification.

WSC President Marcello Lotti declared: “We are delighted to add a new flag on the TCR global map. The establishment of the TCR Mexico Class in the frame of the Copa Notiauto Mexico further extends the category’s footprint in the American continent. And from a personal point of view, it’s a very emotional moment as it revives fond memories of when we brought international Touring Car competition to Mexico for the first time ever.”

Ramón Osorio, director of operations of Copa Notiauto said: "We are very excited to become part of the TCR family; this is fantastic news for Mexican motorsport to have for the first time an international Touring Car class in our country. The local teams and drivers are looking forward to the Endurance and Sprint formats that will bring a lot of first class racing in the racetracks around the country."
