TCR Korea’s inaugural season will kick off in one month-time at Korean International Circuit and the new championship has been officially launched yesterday in a Media Day.
Hongsik Jeon, the TCR Korea promoter, delivered a welcome speech: “I wish to thank to our sponsors, official partners, teams and the associations who helped us to kick off the TCR Korea series. I am delighted to present the TCR race in Korea, with growing interest in Touring Car racing around the world and these days, the concept of the customer racing become a worldwide trend. I believe that TCR Korea will enable teams to use the same car to participate in other national, regional and international TCR events. The launch of the TCR Korea series will give a great opportunity to drivers and racing teams in Korea.”
While ten cars registered to participate so far, the confirmed teams such as Solite Indigo Racing (Hyundai i30 N TCR), E-rain Racing (Hyundai i30 N TCR), DreamRacer Racing Team (Honda Civic Type R TCR) and KMSA Motorsport (Hyundai i30 N TCR) have presented their drivers and team members.
