TCR Germany returns in 2024 as an independent touring car series with a six-event calendar in Germany and neighbouring countries.
Franz Engstler, who retakes his promoter role, said: “We aim to go back to the basics. This means, affordable motorsport for drivers and teams as well as thrilling racing with a variety of car brands and maximum accessibility.”
In the 2024 season: BG Sportpromotion will contribute to the series’ implementation. “We are excited to be able to apply our motorsport expertise to TCR Germany,” said BG Sportpromotion's Rene Binna and Christoph Gerlach.
Kurt Treml, who had been working with Engstler in the early days of TCR Germany, will also be part of the management team.
The 2024 season will begin with a testing day at the Salzburgring, while the actual championship will kick-off at the Red Bull Ring in May. The season finale will be held at the Nürburgring in October.
The events in Germany will take place within the frame of the 'ADAC Racing Weekends', while TCR Germany will join TCR Eastern Europe in Austria and Slovakia.
"We are very glad that TCR Germany and TCR Eastern Europe will be racing together at Red Bull Ring, Slovakiaring and Salzburgring," commented the series’ promoters Franz Engstler and Josef Krenek.
