The 2022 ADAC TCR Germany championship begins this weekend at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben with a grid of 14 cars.
After having won three consecutive titles with Hyundai cars, the reigning champion Team Engstler has switched to Honda and fields three Civic Type R cars for last year’s vice champion Martin Andersen, Polish youngster Szymon Ładniak and Roland Hertner who clinched the 2022 Trophy.
Hyundai colours are now defended by Roja Motorsport that runs two Veloster N cars for team principal Robin Jahr and Jessica Bäckman, plus one i30 N for René Kircher. Two other i30 N cars are driven by Patrick Sing for his own RaceSing Team and Lithuania’s Jonas Karklys who claimed his maiden victory in last year’s last race at the Nürburgring for Nordpass Jutaracing.
Switzerland-based Maurer Motorsport will run two Holden Astra cars for veteran Belgian touring car racer Vincent Radermecker and Swiss rookie Michael Maurer.
Max Frederik Gruhn joins the championship in a second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS for Gruhn Stahlbau Racing, while Kai Rosowski drives the previous model for K-Ro Racing.
The field is completed by the NS Competition-run CUPRA Leon Competición of Dorian Guldenfels and the old Honda Civic FK2 of Albert Legutko.
