With the Danish government banning all sports events until the end of August due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TCR Denmark’s promoter will be forced to revise its schedule for the series’ inaugural season.
The ban has scrapped the events that were expected to take place at Jyllandsringen (May 2/3; June 20/21 and August 21/22) and Copenhagen (August 1/2); while the Aahrus race meeting (May 16/17) had already been called off by the local promoter.
Only the two last events of the calendar are likely to be held at the original dates: Djursland (September 26/27) and Padborg Park (October 10/11).
“We are back in planning mode, and we are working closely together with tracks and teams to draft a new calendar. Despite the many challenges we believe that we can have four or five race meetings this season; enough for a decent championship,” said championship’s promoter Martin Jensen.
