Two weeks after the cancellation of the penultimate event at Padborg Park imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, TCR Denmark's inaugural season comes to an end with three races, Saturday at Jyllandsringen.
Kasper Jensen (Massive Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R), defends the leadership in the standings he has taken from the very beginning, when he won two races from three in the opening event at Jyllandsringen. After that, Jensen did not score other wins, but with consistency retained the top spot in the classification with a margin of 32 points over Martin Andersen (Andersen Motorsport, Hyundai i30 N) who has emerged as his major competitor.
With 75 points for grasp in the final event, the other drivers have only theoretical chances and will rather fight for wins and the championship podium: Nicolai Sylvest (LM Racing, Volkswagen Golf), Mikael Markussen (Markussen Racing, Peugeot 308), Jan Magnussen (LM Racing, Volkswagen GolfI) and Jakob Mathiassen (Insight Racing, Alfa Romeo Giulietta).
A newcomer in the final event will be Peter Obel at the wheel of a CUPRA run by Sally Racing; a maiden appearance that preludes to a full season commitment in 2021.
