TCR Denmark kicks off this weekend at FDM Jyllandsringen with the first of the seven events that form a calendar that includes a visit to Sweden, at Falkenberg, and the traditional street race at Copenhagen.
Kasper H. Jensen defends the titles won in 2021 and 2022, still at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R run by GMB Motorsport, while his last year's rival Mike Halder has moved to TPR Motorsport and swapped his Civic for an Audi. Nicolai Sylvest, the third contender in the battle for the 2022 title, remained faithful to the Green Development team and the CUPRA Leon Competición.
The three of them will find on their way a terrific opponent in Jan Magnussen. The Danish motorsport legend returns to championship one year after the 2021 season, when he scored five wins in the first six races before a crash at Copenhagen and the clash with another commitment cost him the possibility to fight for the title until the end. Magnussen will drive a CUPRA Leon Competición for Auto Lounge Racing.
Other drivers who can have an impact in the title fight are Jensen's teammate Gustav Birch and Michael Markussen in his own team's CUPRA Leon Competición.
The championship retains its popular format: a two-day event with three races on Sunday.
