The TCR China championship resumes this weekend at Jiangsu Nanjing International Circuit for the penultimate event of the season that is a double-header. In fact, the competitors will take part in four races: rounds 7 and 8 on Saturday and rounds 9 and 10 on Sunday.
Ma Qing Hua defends his leadership in the standings, having won four races from the six that have been held so far, including the first race at Tianma last weekend. Ma who drives a Lynk & Co 03 run by Shell Teamwork has built a 30-point lead over Macau’s Rodolfo Ávila who has claimed the maiden TCR China victory for himself and the MG Xpower team in Tianma’s Race 2. That also marked the first ever win for MG in any TCR competition.
Ma and Ávila are the most serious contenders for the champion’s crow, however, with 108 points still for grasp, other drivers hope to join the title fight, starting from Ma’s teammate Yang Xi and Wu Yifan (326 Motorsport, Audi RS 3 LMS) who are currently placed third and fourth, both 54 points behind the leader.
