The TCR China season kicks of at Zhuzhou International Circuit with an intense programme that includes four races, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Thirteen cars have been entered, and for the first time the majority of them represent Chinese brands, with four models each of Lynk & Co 03 and MG6 Xpower.
Teamwork Motorsport runs the four Lynk & Co cars, though under the banners of two different teams: Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co for Ma Qing Hua and Lu Wei, AutoHome Racing for 2019 China GT vice-champion Wang Tao and the pair of Zhang Ziyi-Lin Qi who will share driving duties.
The MG6 cars are raced by the MG Xpower team, two of them driven by Zhang Zhendong and Macau's Rodolfo Ávila who have been confirmed after last year's maiden appearances, while the others are in the hands of He Xiaole and Cui Yue, both experienced drivers with victories in the China Touring Car Championship.
The field is completed by Yan Chuang's Volkswagen Golf GTI and three Audi RS 3 LMS cars for Yang Xi, Wu Yifan and Hong Konger James Wong.
However, the pandemic restrictions that forbid travelling from Macau and Hong Kong have prevented Wong from joining.
