TCR Australia is set for the historic first race event at Mount Panorama next weekend with an expanded field of 22 cars.
To be held on the Easter long weekend supporting the Bathurst 6 Hour, the third event of the season will mark the first time that the TCR category will compete around the famous mountain circuit.
Garth Tander who scored one race win in the 2019 TCR Australia returns to the championship at the wheel of the same Audi RS 3 LMS that he qualified on pole at the still-born TCR Asia Pacific Cup event at Albert Park in March 2020. Tander’s car will be run by the Melbourne Performance Centre alongside those of Chaz Mostert and Luke King who are currently first and second in the standings.
Another Audi car will make the grid, that of privateer Lian McAdam who has already competed in the season opener at Symmons Plains.
To complete the field, the HMO Customer Racing team also expands to three Hyundai i30 N cars for the first time, as Carrera Cup regular Duvashen Padayachee will join team’s regular drivers Josh Buchan and Nathan Morcom.
