One month after racing together at Zhuhai, TCR Asia and TCR China meet again at Shanghai International Circuit. The event counts as rounds 5 and 6 for TCR Asia and rounds 3 and 4 for TCR China.
Team Engstler’s Luca Engstler and Diego Morán have won all the four races held so far (3-1 for Engstler) and are first and second in the TCR Asia standings, with the young German leading from the Ecuadorian by nine points. Their closest pursuer is Eurasia Motorsport’s Pepe Oriola, who lies 35 points from the lead and is followed by his own teammate Daniel Miranda who completes a Hyundai quartet on top of the standings. For the Shanghai event, Sunny Wong joins Alex Hui in the second Teamwork Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS.
Another European driver, Daniel Lloyd, is the current leader in TCR China. The Briton and his Honda Civic run by MacPro Racing have won the first race in Zhuhai and have a four-point margin over Huang Chu Han’s Team NewFaster Audi, the winner of Race 2. Hong Kong-based Elegant Racing Team returns to the series fielding two Audi cars for Michael and James Wong.
The two races will start Saturday at 15:45 and Sunday at 9:45 local times (9:45 and 3:45 CET) and will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.tv.
