Ecuador’s Diego Moran will return to the TCR Asia Series with a Liqui Moly Team Engstler Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Last year, during his maiden season, Moran won in just his second start, on his way to seven season podiums and third in the championship standings behind Thai title rivals Kantadhee Kusiri and Tin Sritrai.
“Last year it was a steep learning curve, but I was surprised at how quickly I came to terms with the car. The team made life so much easier for me, because they had their 2016 championship experience to draw on. Ultimately, together with Kusiri, we achieved our goal of winning the two titles, and for me - learning for the coming season,” said Moran.
The Liqui Moly Team Engstler will field a three-car team in the 2018 season, with Moran to be joined by two rookies.
“I have only one goal for 2018 and that is to win the title! I will have a new car, so I am looking forward to that, and together with the experience I had last year on circuits like Bangsaen, I think I come into this year’s championship as a more complete driver. I really enjoy driving the Golf car and with that season of experience beneath me, I am really looking forward to the year ahead!”
