South Korea-based Solite Indigo Racing confirmed the 2019 TCR Europe champion Josh Files and rising star Kim Jinsoo for its campaign in the 2020 TCR Asia Series.
Files joined the team from the second race meeting of TCR Malaysia, while Kim was added for this Saturday’s final event.
With the aim of fighting for the TCR Asia title, Solite Indigo Racing will run two Hyundai cars, a Veloster N for Files and a i30 N for Kim who returns to the championship after ranking sixth in the 2019 season. The team will be led by Lee Jae Woo, veteran driver and former Team Director of Chevrolet Racing Korea.
Files who has already clinched four TCR titles, two in Germany and one in Middle East and Europe, said: “I’m super happy to be joining Solite Indigo Racing for the TCR Asia series. It’s a completely new challenge for me. The guys at the team are really great and we are all pumped and ready to take the fight on. We have started our preparations in TCR Malaysia to give maximum attack for the TCR Asia series and challenge for the title. A huge thanks to Solite Indigo Racing and Hyundai for putting their trust in me, I’ll give it my all for them.”
