Second pole position for Thed Björk at Ningbo

Thed Bjork did it again and topped the Qualifying for the WTCR Race 3 at Ningbo International Speedpark just like he had done yesterday in Qualifying for Race 1.
The Swedish driver ranked third in Q1, fourth in Q2 and then topped Q3, although he was not able to beat the fastest lap of the day clocked by Esteban Guerrieri in Q2.
The Hyundai cars locked the front row, with Björk on pole and Norbert Michelisz second, while Gabriele Tarquini will start alongside Guerrieri from the second row and Rob Huff completed the top five.
In Q1, Yvan Muller emerged as the fastest with a lap of 1:50.406, leading a Hyundai 1-2-3 with Michelisz second (1:50.492) and Björk third (1:50.505).
With the 17 fastest drivers covered by eight tenths of a second, gaps were tiny and Jean-Karl Vernay was the first of those who didn’t go through to Q2, 78 thousandths behind the 12^th-placed Frédéric Vervisch.
The final moments of Q2 were thrilling, with Guerrieri jumping on top of the timesheet with a lap of 1:50.150, demoting Tarquini to second (1:50.370), Michelisz to third (1:50.415) and Björk to fourth (1:50.440). As the flag dropped, Huff managed to take fifth (1:50.467) kicking Denis Dupont out.
Mehdi Bennani qualified tenth and won pole position on the reverse grid for Race 2, sharing the front row with Muller.
Second to take the track in Q3, Björk (1:50.371) outpaced Huff (1:50.902) and then sat in the pits looking at the other three drivers failing to beat his time.
Michelisz (1:50.474) was one tenth slower; Tarquini (1:50.622) was fastest in the first sector, but made a mistake in the second; Guerrieri (1:50.517) took third.
Race 2 will start at 14:20 local time (8:20 CET).
