Second pole in two days for Dominik Fugel at the Sachsenring

Dominik Fugel claimed a second pole position in two days at the Sachsenring for the ADAC TCR Germany fifth event of the season. This meant that the Team ADAC Sachsen driver cut the advantage of Luca Engstler in the standings by four further points, moving only two points behind the second-placed Eric Scalvini.
Just like in yesterday’s Qualifying for Race 1, Fugel set the pace from the beginning with a lap of 1:26.906. However, that was bettered by Martin Andersen’s 1:26.888 and then by Engstler’s 1:26.644. 
Six minutes before the end of the 20-minute session, Fugel returned to the top of the timesheet with a lap of 1:26.211 that nobody was able to beat. Both his teammates Christopher Röhner (1:26.776) and Marcel Fugel (1:26.685) improved and moved up into fourth and third behind Engstler.
Team Engstler’s other drivers, Andersen (1:26.777) and Nico Gruber (1:26.435) were the last to improve; Andersen remained in sixth position while Gruber secured a front row spot on the grid alongside Dominik Fugel, demoting Engstler to third.
Wimmer Werk Motorsport’s Scalvini continued struggling to find a decent pace at the Sachsenring and could only achieve the 13^th position in today’s Qualifying. 
With the first three rows of the grid monopolized by the Team ADAC Sachsen Honda cars and the Team Engstler Hyundai cars, today’s race might prove crucial for the title fight.
