Argentine driver José Manuel Sapag will join Target Competition for the three remaining events of the TCR Europe series: Barcelona, Spa-Francorchamps and Jarama.
The 25-year old Sapag, a race winner in the competitive Argentine TC2000 championship, will be at the wheel of the fourth Hyundai i30 N car run by the Italian team, alongside Jessica and Andreas Bäckman and John Filippi.
Sapag, who made a one-off appearance in the 2018 TCR Europe event a Monza, driving a CUPRA for Baporo Motorsport, had planned to join the championship earlier.
“We had an agreement with Target Competition to run at least five events in TCR Europe this year, but the plan has been thwarted by the travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. If the situation improves, I’m looking forward to entering in the full 2021 TCR Europe season,” said Sapag.
Besides the three events in TCR Europe, Sapag should also compete in a couple of WTCR events at Hungaroring and Adria.
