Romeo Ferraris announced that Rodrigo “Digo” Baptista will be part of its driver line-up for the 2021 season of the PURE ETCR series. The 24-year-old Brazilian will join Stefano Coletti and Luca Filippi at the wheel of one of the two Alfa Romeo Giulia ETCR by Romeo Ferraris entered in the new championship for electric cars that will kick off at Vallelunga on 19-20 June.
After racing in single-seater categories, Baptista has built a significant background in GT racing, winning the 2017 Porsche GT3 Cup Brazil and finishing runner-up in the LMGTE Am class at the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours.
During the current season, Baptista will be also racing in the TCR South America championship, driving an Audi RS 3 LMS for Cobra Racing.
