Cobra Racing Team, the Brazilian outfit managed by Flavio ‘Noño’ Figueiredo, announced Rodrigo and Adalberto Baptista as their drivers for the inaugural season of TCR South America. They will be at the wheel of two Audi RS 3 LMS cars.
The 24-year-old Rodrigo ‘Digo’ Baptista has proved very competitive in GT racing, he finished runner-up in the LM GTE class of the 2019 Le Mans 24 hours and had previously won the Brazilian Porsche Cup title in 2017.
His uncle Adalberto, 52-year-old, has also grown a vast experience in endurance races and was vice-champion in the 2018 Brazilian Porsche Cup and in the Pro-Am class of last year’s Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy.
“TCR South America is a brand-new championship, but it has all the cards to grow quickly. This is a category that enjoys a huge success in a lot of countries around the world and I am confident it has a bright future in South America as well,” ‘Digo’ Baptista said.
