Robert Dahlgren has now claimed six pole positions from six qualifying sessions in the 2021 TCR Scandinavia season, after the PWR Racing CUPRA driver topped the time sheets at the Gelleråsen Arena.
Dahlgren led the way in the first part of qualifying with a time of 1:05.348, just under a second ahead of the Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen of Mikael Karlsson, with Dahlgren’s PWR teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky third quickest in the session which sets the grid for the first race.
There was a big scalp in the first segment of qualifying, as Tobias Brink, second in the championship, could only manage the tenth fastest time in his Audi RS 3 LMS, and so will start the first two races tomorrow from that position.
In Q2, Dahlgren found more time in his CUPRA Leon Competición to go fastest of all with a time of 1:05.295, with teammate Åhlin-Kottulinsky his closest rival in second, just over two-tenths behind.
Oliver Söderström qualified a strong third in his Lestrup-run Volkswagen Golf, just under four-tenths of a second behind.
The first race is scheduled for 10:50 CEST on Sunday, with Race 2 at 14:00, and Race 3 with the partially reversed grid at 16:15.
