Rob Huff, the 2012 Touring Car world champion, and now recently crowned TCR Scandinavia champion, will switch to the MG 6 XPower for TCR China’s finale around the streets of Macau, a race which he's won a record nine times.
Macau has been on strict lockdown since the start of the year, with special exceptions being put in place to allow the event to take place. However, in order to take part, all team members, drivers, and officials coming from outside Macau are required to isolate on arrival in a hotel room for 14 days.
This means Huff, now already in Macau, will be waiting it out in a hotel room for two weeks before he's able to head out to the circuit and drive his new MG 6 XPower.
"I'm very lucky to be able to take part in this year's Guia Race, and it's great to be racing with the MG XPower team. It's going to be a nice way to cap off the year after winning the TCR Scandinavia title and now going out to have another shot at winning my tenth race in Macau. The MG 6 has been really strong in its first full season in the TCR China championship, I think we've got a very good chance, although it's not going to be easy. This is a new car for me, I've never driven it before; although that was the plan originally this year - so the first time I'll have ever driven it, will be around the streets of Macau in the first practice session, which will be an exciting way to be introduced. I have been involved in the development of the car and know it's got great potential,”Huff said.
