The Red Camel-Jordans.nl CUPRA of the Breukers trio – Ivo the father, Ric and Luc the sons – claimed its second consecutive pole position in the TCE European Championship at the 12H BRNO. Rik Breukers completed a lap of the Czech circuit in 2:13.642, beating by five-tenths that posted by the Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen Golf GTI shared by Stefan Nilsson, Peter Fahlström, Marcus Fluch and Emil Sällberg.
“I think it was a good lap, I really enjoyed it, and we’re very happy to be on pole,” Rik Breukers said. “It’s hot, so I think everyone in TCR is struggling. The corners here are really long, and that puts a lot of pressure on the front tyres, but I think we’ve got a good setup.”
The Monlau Competición CUPRA driven by Stuart Hall, Christopher Kemp, David Tinn and Tom Black took third place on the TCE grid in the closing moments, while the points leading Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI of Fabian Danz, Kari-Pekka Laaksonen and Antti Buri will start from fifth overall and as fourth in the TCR class, followed by the AC Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS of Stephane Perrin, Vincent Radermecker and James Kaye, which lies just two points adrift of the leaders in the TCE European Championship standings.
