The Real Federación Española de Automovilismo announced the launch of the TCR Spain, Campeonato de España de Superturismos (TCR Spain CEST).
Following to an agreement signed with WSC, owner of the TCR brand and Technical Regulations, the TCR Spain CEST will start in 2021 over five events within the frame of the RFEDA Racing Weekends.
The TCR Spain CEST will be sharing the grid with the Spanish Touring Car Championship (CET), a discipline which is retained as essential to progress in the touring car competition ladder, as it was reflected in the FIA Commission.
Manuel Aviñó, RFEDA President, stated: “We feel really optimistic with the arrival of this Championship, which will have its own entity and relevance. We are very honoured to have reached an agreement with WSC, that has been possible thanks to the success of the Racing Weekends. To us, this step means an open vision to the international competition in our circuits, where the Spanish Touring Car Championship (CET) will continue to be absolutely capital to keep evolving in other major touring car disciplines as the same TCR Spain CEST or the TCR Europe.”
