The results of this morning’s second race at Imola, TCR Italy’s sixth round, has been amended once again.
Damiano Reduzzi, who had been given a five-second penalty that dropped him from first to fifth, was reinstated as the winner and so Salvatore Tavano and Igor Stefanovski were sent back to their positions: second and third respectively.
A review of the last-lap-contact between the Hyundai cars of Reduzzi and Marco Pellegrini, made the Stewards re-consider it as a normal racing incident, and so the penalty was cancelled.
However, another five-second penalty was imposed to Eric Brigliadori – fourth at the end of the race – for a collision with Eric Scalvini. As a consequence, Brigliadori was demoted to 13th and this affected the championship standings that he was leading.
Tavano is now the new leader, nine points clear of Pellegrini, while Brigliadori has slipped to third one further point adrift.
