The domination of the Lynk&Co cars in the WTCR first Qualifying at Zandvoort resulted in a sudden intervention of the TCR Technical Department that revoked the latest Balance of Performance bulletin that granted adjustments of the weight and engine power level to the Chinese cars.
As a result, with immediate application, the Lynk&Co cars have been given a BoP ballast of 30 kg and an engine power level of 97.5%.
WSC president Marcello Lotti commented: “The BoP works very well thanks to the joint efforts of the technical departments of WSC and FIA; and this was proved by the results of the previous events. The adjustment granted to the Lynk&Co had been applied following their performance at the Slovakiaring. That is a brand new car and after only three events our technicians still don’t have built a complete picture of its potential, which is why there was a misjudged interpretation of their performance. Because of this, the BoP has been further adjusted to re-balance the performance.”
