The opening round of the 2018 Campeonato España Resistencia (CER) at Valencia’s Circuito Ricardo Tormo delivered an exciting battle between SEAT León and Cupra TCR cars. The RC2 Junior Team León driven by David Cébrian and Max Llobet emerged as the winner, but the first seven places in the final classification were all covered by 90 seconds.
Gianluigi Vicinanza and Álex Cosin finished second in a Monlau Competición Cupra DSG, 25 seconds behind the winner and only five ahead of the Baporo Motorsport’s similar car shared by Joan Vinyes and Jaime Font.
Seventeen TCR cars took part in the 2-hour race, facing a bunch of GTs and other Touring Cars, eventually they claimed 12 of the first 13 places in the overall classification.
The second round of the CER will take place at Motorland-Alcañiz on 19/20 May.
