The third round of the Campeonato de España Resistencia took place at Navarra, where the TCR cars competed against the GTs in two one-hour races.
In the first race the Catalan duo of Max Llobet and David Cebrián took victory in the TCR class at the wheel of a SEAT León run by the RC2 Junior Team and also claimed a brilliant third position overall close behind two sports cars. For the whole race the winning duo had a close battle with Lluc Ibañez and Maxime Guillemat in a NM Racing Team Cupra DSG and eventually took the chequered flag with a margin of only four seconds. The Cupra DSG of PCR Sport shared by Ferrán and Fernando Monje, father and son, finished in third position. However, after the race, Ibañez-Guillemat were dropped to fifth by a 25-second penalty, which promoted the Monjes to second and Guillermo Aso (PCR Sport Cupra DSG) to third.
Ibañez and Guillemat took their revenge in the second race, in which they left the rest of the field one lap behind. Two other Cupra DSG cars completed the TCR podium with Gianluigi Vicinanza and Álex Cosin taking second place for Monlau Competición, while Antonio Aristi and Harriet Arruabarrena were third for PCR Sport.
Llobet-Cebrián lead the championship with 127 points, 14 clear of Vicinanza-Cosin; third on equal points are Ibañez-Guillemat and Joan Vinyes-Jaime Font (Baporo Motorsport Cupra DSG) with 104 points.
The CER will resume at Jarama on October 6 and 7.
