Davit Kajaia (2nd): “I’m very happy – the first two places to Alfa is great! The circuit suits the car much better than Oschersleben or Hungary and the car is also in great condition because the team has worked really hard. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Qualifying because it’s hard to say what will happen. All the teams tend to hide their performance in Free Practice and we know they will push harder, but we think we can improve the car a little for Qualifying. I just hope to be in the top twelve in Q1 and then I cross my fingers….”
Jean-Karl Vernay (3rd): “It was a good run. We made a late change and it worked pretty well. I’m happy with the car and we are now working on ways in which we can improve it a little more. We were on old tyres and I’m pretty sure some of the guys used new tyres, but nobody really cares about Free Practice and the games really start now! I just have to drive 100% and we should be okay. Sometimes we see some surprises in Qualifying from Alfa and the Opel, but my target is to be up front. The main contenders are Honda and they have three cars but we have done a good job until now and we have to continue.”
Giacomo Altoé (4th): “I feel good with the car and the team. I am improving all the time, learning the car and the track so I feel confident and I hope to do a good Qualifying. The feeling is good and we know we can still improve the car a little. The Civic compared to the Golf is very different and I have had to change my driving style to get the best out of the car but now it’s good and so my confidence is high ahead of Qualifying.”
